as organizations find themselves competing in the global marketplace more frequently, they have to explore new avenues in order to execute it projects expeditiously and cost effectively. v2soft has successfully developed turn key and fixed projects to our customers using various delivery models. We have used a combination of one of the three models listed below in delivering projects on time and under budget and to best suit our customers needs and infrastructure. We use the onsite, offsite and offshore solutions delivery model to maximize the information exchange and seamless delivery of business solutions. The projects can be completed using one of the three models:



1. Onsite-offsite model

2. Onsite-offsite/offshore model

3. Offsite-offshore model



we will engage in onsite-offsite model when and if the project is large and complex and needs continuous client interaction and input on various designs and the complete sdlc process. In the onsite-offsite/offshore model, we will have a project management team(pmo) onsite/offsite which can comprise of one to many consultants who can be project managers, architects, and more. The pmo team will then work with the offsite team at our bingham farms development center in getting the project completed as per requirements at various v2soft’s delivery centers in india and china.



in the offsite-offshore model, the complete application development will occur at our development center in bingham farms, mi or at our india and china centers. Our project managers and technical team leads will co-ordinate the project with the customers and the development centers.



offshore delivery using hybrid model: several companies have started doing offshore business and have setup centers in india, china, russia and other countries where talent is available at a lower cost. V2soft identified that in most cases not all the, work can be sent offshore and that there will be significant impact on the businesses. We identified the following potential problems:



1. Loss of business domain knowledge to a resource who would be moved offshore after a period of time or rotated out to another country

2. Communication issues resulting in additional cost to the project

3. Even when onshore resources are used (by traditional offshore companies)they are primarily from their offshore centers who are unaware of local culture and business needs, leading to a steep learning curve and frustration among business customers

4. In most cases traditional offshore companies were using less than 5% of onshore resources

5. Promised savings of 30 to 40% was dwindling down to a mere 5 to 10% with delayed application launches



v2soft identified these issues, and came up with a “hybrid model” for project outsourcing. In this model, v2soft’s pmo(project management office) team comprising of program manager, architects, offshore coordinators, project managers and implementation specialists will do the following:



1. Do a thorough analysis of the system to be developed, and the kind of interactions that will be required with the business customers and the local it team to design, develop and launch an application

2. Define the hybrid model that will work for each project. It usually ranges from 20% to 30% of onshore resources and the rest being offshore resources. There have been cases where we have recommended 50% onshore and 50% offshore resources to our customer due to the complexity of the project. This number varies and can only be defined after analysis by our pmo.

3. V2soft then hires local resources or uses the resources that are available within the company for 20 to 30% of onshore help. With a very low turnover, and with a good practice of knowledge transfer, v2soft has successfully retained domain knowledge while hiring people from the local communities.
